Now Playing: President Obama gives Electric Cars a Boost
ADDED: 7/16/2010 at 10:21 PM
President Obama recently helped break ground on a new lithium ion battery cell plant. The plant, in Holland, Michigan, will manufacture cells for electric vehicles like the Chevrolet Volt. Last August, the Obama Administration appointed $2.4 billion in stimulus spending aimed at encouraging development of new battery and electric-vehicle technology. The ninth of nine new factories to start construction, the Compact Power facility is a direct result of significant grants from that fund.

I think if GM gets the battery storage right before Honda or Toyota, then GM will be off to the races with the Electric Car and we will be moving away from oil, and start working on charging electric vehicles and other hybrid electric cars with solar, wind energy and various other types of green energy. They need to move very fast though, and patent the heck out of it.
