Opel is staking a strong claim for the title of star-attraction at the 64th Frankfurt International Motor Show with an all-new battery-powered electric vehicle. The concept opens a new chapter in electric mobility and extends Opel's pioneering role in alternative propulsion systems. The key figures of the motorway-capable vehicle are 100 kilometers for one euro, one third of the weight of a modern small car, and a maximum speed of 120 km/h.

Blue symbolises the Hydrogen-powered Fuel Cell electric vehicles, green represents the battery electric vehicles. The combination of red and green represents Hybrid technology. Honda announced today that the EV-neo electric scooter will make its European debut. A Demonstration Programme in conjunction with Barcelona City Council will get underway from the beginning of July 2011. EV-neo is a battery electric scooter with zero in-use CO2 emissions.

Electric Vehicles Hold Promise of Bluer Skies for Manila. Philippine President Benigno S. Aquino III transferred 20 Asian Development Bank (ADB)-funded electric tricycles (e-trikes) to the City of Mandaluyong, marking an important first step towards a sustainable, energy-efficient transport model for the country. The 20 e-trikes are part of an ADB-funded project to introduce energy-efficient transportation alternatives in the Philippines.
